Nico! She's obviously great on the "The Velvet Underground & Nico". For the longest time I'd only also heard her on her first album Chelsey Girl. That's a fine album but it left me thinking that she was just just a German supermodel that got into a bit of acting and singing, fell into Andy Warhol's crowd before Warhol convinced The Velvet Underground to bring her on for their first album. I was totally unaware that she became a musician after her first album, taking up the harmonium as her favorite instrument and the one she almost exclusively used, as well as beginning to write her own songs.

There she became very experimental in her own right. It also very much helped that again she had classically trained avant-garde multi-instrumentalist & ex-Velvet Underground band mate John Cale to work with. I love the first two Velvet Underground albums. They are appealing to me because of John Cale. He brought to the group their avant-garde elements. After he left the group it's just Lou Reed and his backup band. I don't care.

I'm mostly focused on Nico's 2nd through 4th solo albums. I'm extremely impressed.
