I possess my ticket for the Table of the Elements Tour. Table of the Elements is the record label ran by Tony Conrad. In the 60's, he was a member of The Dream Syndicate, also called The Theater of Eternal Music, which also included John Cale(pre-Velvet Underground), Angus Maclise, La Monte Young and Marian Zazeela. They would create improvised, extended tones, tuned in Just Intonation. Tony Conrad has put out other musical collaborations, has worked in film and much more. He will be playing at this concert.

Rhys Chatham will also be there. It says next to his name, "Guitar Army". Like Cale, Young and Conrad, he is also a classically trained musician and composer. When he began learning Just Intonation, he would tune La Monte Young's piano, in exchange for lessons. He has also had lessions from the electronic atonal composer Morton Subotnick, and was a protégé of Tony Conrad. All that, and while still a teenager, formed an experimental music program at the Kitchen in New York, that proved highly influential. Chatham was inspired by The Ramones, while seeing them at CBGB's, to start composing for multiple electric guitars. He was the first to merge microtonal music with multiple electric guitar works. His more famous students, as well as players in his ensembles, include fellow multiple guitar symphony composer Glenn Branca, plus members of Sonic Youth and the Swans. Rhys Chatham doesn't always use guitars in his works. He's an extremely gifted and multifaceted musician and composer. His most famous recording is, "An Angel Moves Too Fast To See". It utilizes 100 electric guitar players, plus a bass player and drummer.

Jonathan Kane is playing too. He's a past student of Rhys Chatham, and is a Swans co-founder. He been the drummer in concerts and recording of Swans, Rhys Chatham and La Monte Young's rock works, among others. Kane has composed for solo and ensemble performances, dance, theater and television. Last fall, he released his first solo album, called February.

Thanks. Should I post my reaction to the Chatham/Conrad/Kane show, on glen_branca? Or is that too off topic? Or just a stupid idea? Cus maybe the community is only info about Branca.
